Alterations
Alterations are adjustments made by a tailor to improve the fit of a finished garment, such as hemming or taking in seams. A hem or strap change is usually quick, while reshaping a bodice, altering shoulders or working on a heavily beaded dress is complex and may need multiple fittings. Book your first fitting as soon as you have the dress, bring your shoes and undergarments, and ask for a completion date. Many shops treat altered dresses as final sale.
