Fit and flare
Fit and flare is a dress that is fitted through the bodice and waist and then flares out into a fuller skirt. The flare often starts at the waist or hip, so the style defines the waist while leaving room to move and dance. It is a popular choice for cocktail and wedding guest dresses. Try sitting, raising your arms and walking in the fitting room, because the fitted bodice has to stay put as the skirt moves.
